FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
- Open doors on both sides of vehicle.
- Ensure that roof of vehicle is clean and free of dirt and grit that may cause damage to the magnetic base or the paintwork of the vehicle.
- Lay magnetic bases across the roof of the vehicle, at least 60cm/(2’) apart, parallel to each other.
- Attach straps to either the front or rear of the magnetic base using the HOOK & LOOP attaching system.
- While doors are open, run straps through the inside of vehicle as shown, and secure the strap through the jaws of the buckle (A). Pull tight to secure to roof.
- Feed strap through buckle lock (B) to secure, this will prevent slipping. Do this to both of the magnetic bases and confirm that they are securely attached to the vehicle.
- Attach desired foam blocks to the magnetic bases using the HOOK & LOOP attaching system.
- Place load on blocks, front to back. Where possible load should be evenly distributed across the width of the foam blocks.
- When load is positioned correctly, pass strap over load and through the jaws of buckle (C) on other side of vehicle and tighten to secure load.
- Feed strap through buckle lock (D) to secure, this will prevent slipping.
- Repeat steps (7) and (8) at other end of load.
- Tie off excess straps, or let them hang inside the vehicle.
- Shut vehicle doors.
Please Note:
Vehicle doors must be open during installation. Where specialised accessories are used, follow that accessories fitting instructions.
EXTRA TIPS:
At regular intervals, during your trip and when taking rest stops, inspect and check that load is securely positioned on the foam blocks. Where necessary, retighten straps. If a whistling or humming sound is experienced during travel, a simple twist of the straps should eliminate this noise.
Ribbed roof vehicles
When fitting to vehicle roof that is ribbed, front to back, attach “Tie Down Strap” to front of both magnetic bases. This will avoid air being caught under the magnetic base causing it to lift.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Recommendations:
Where possible, the load should be evenly distributed over the area of the foam blocks and the centre of gravity of the load kept as low as possible. Loads that exceed the width of each foam block should NOT be carried using this carrier system. Loads shall be carried ONLY AFTER adequately secured using the straps provided. Additional “RACK MASTER” straps may be used to further secure load if required. It is recommended that items which may produce significant lifting forces are carried in such a way that the lifting force is minimized. Where specialised accessories are available for carrying specific items – for example, “ROD MASTER” for fishing rods, “SKI MASTER” for snow skis – these should be used.
WARNINGS:
Correctly follow instructions for fitting and use. Ensure that magnetic base is adequately secured to the vehicle before attempting to secure load. The “RACK MASTER – ROD MASTER – SKI MASTER & LOAD MASTER” are designed to carry light to medium loads NOT exceeding 25kg /(55lbs). Loads exceeding 25kg /(55lbs) shall not be carried using this carrier system. It is important that all equipment associated with the “RACK MASTER” carrier system, is maintained in good condition and working order. Securing straps pass through the interior of the vehicle. Care should be taken to ensure that they DO NOT and WILL NOT cause danger to any passenger. To avoid damage to paintwork of vehicle it is important that the magnetic base is fitted in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
